Imperial College, St Mary’s Campus, lies 0.3 miles to the north of the hotel and houses the Alexander Fleming Museum. Paddington Basin, a canal-side development, lies 0.3 miles to the north. From there you can walk along the towpath to Little Venice, which has cafes and places to embark on canal boat tours. The Wallace Collection, with displays of fine art, furniture, porcelain, arms and armour, is 1.0 miles away. Buckingham Palace, where you can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony, is a pleasant 2-mile walk south across Hyde Park and Green Park. Oxford Street, with its famous shops, is 0.7 miles along the top of Hyde Park and the rest of London’s West End is easily reached by tube, bus or taxi. Paddington itself is home to many chic bars, cafés, traditional pubs and boutiques.
