Arran House is in a really good location for accessing much of London on foot. It is well run and offers good value for money. Just remember it is a bed and breakfast and not a full blown hotel.
About the Arran House Hotel
Arran House Hotel is a low-cost bed and breakfast in the picturesque Bloomsbury district of London, an area renowned for its former literary residents, which included Virginia Woolf, Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens. The campuses of University College London and The University of London are situated close to the hotel as well, making this a lively cultural and educational centre.

The hotel is housed in an elegant Georgian building and is a family run establishment with friendly staff. Hotel guest rooms range from Single to Quint sizes, some with en-suite facilities and are decorated in a tasteful, classic style, meeting a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. In-room amenities include a colour TV, towels and linens, tea and coffee making facilities and a free wireless Internet connection. Guests also have access to the hotel's pleasant rose garden, a TV lounge and fridge if needed and a Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. Staff are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and rooms have been soundproofed to help maintain a peaceful environment throughout.
The hotel doesn't cater for evening meals, but the surrounding area has some excellent eating options. Villandry Delicatessen provides alternative breakfast options with tasty breads and cakes, chains such as Ask! Pizza and Busaba Ethai provide a cheap and cheerful night out and Elena's Etoile provides a glam venue for a special night out.
The hotel is in a superb area for exploring the city. The British Museum, British Library, Wellcome Centre and quirky museums hidden inside the University campuses offer much food for thought; just five minutes walk away from the hotel. For something a little less introspective, London's main shopping streets, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Regent Street are just a 10-minte walk away. Bloomsbury Theatre and The New Diorama Theatre provide evening entertainment close by, but if you don't mind a short bus/tube ride or 20-minute walk, the many theatres of Covent Garden and Shaftesbury Avenue will delight any theatre buffs with everything from mega-musicals to ghostly dramas. With Leicester Square, Soho and Chinatown also easily reached from here, the hotel is in the quintessential London location.
It isn't just the sights that are conveniently placed as the hotel enjoys very good transport links too. An Airbus from Euston Square travels to Heathrow Airport in just 30 minutes, Euston Square tube station services the Circle Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines, providing access to the City of London financial district and Paddington Station for the Heathrow Express Train, as well as many other London locales. Goodge Street tube station is also a five-minute walk away, which services the Northern line, which takes you directly to Waterloo for overground travel throughout the UK and the South Bank exhibition centres.
The Arran House Hotel may not wow you with funky decor and uber-chic bars and restaurants, but it does provide what every London tourist wants, an affordable room rate in a city that is notoriously pricey and a convenient location with the best of London laid out before you, so this is an excellent choice for travellers on a budget. If staying here, it is worth paying extra for an en-suite room and it is recommended to book a room larger than the size you required, as some of the rooms are admittedly petite. Rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the garden and some have doors backing out onto the garden, making it feel like you have a personal patio; however, disabled guests should note that the property isn't fitted with a lift.
