The Best Western Corona, London is a 4 star hotel in the heart of London situated in the Victoria area on Belgrave Road, perfect for a shopping trip, weekend city break or a business trip to the capital.
Victoria Train Station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and is one of Londons busiest travel hubs, main line train connections, Gatwick Express, national coach services and of course the London Underground all go through Victoria Station so it is never a problem getting to where you need to go. Pimlico Tube Station is an even shorter 5 minute walk away to the south and is on the Victoria Line with easy access into the very lively West End where you can take in a show, have a fun evening at one of the many comedy clubs in or around Leicester Square or take a boat trip along the Thames from the Embankment. Have a day out at the Tate Modern on the South Bank and return to the Victoria area for a cosmopolitan meal and glass of wine at one of the many affordable restaurants along Belgrave Road. Victoria is a buzzing district of London within walking distance of Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park, if you up and about early you can see the soldiers and horses of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment taking their morning walk through the park.
Concierge service is available at the hotel and a lift will help you take your luggage to one of the 51 rooms all with en-suite bathroom, satellite colour television and free tea and coffee making facilities. There is a restaurant in the hotel which is used to serve breakfast only and a lounge to relax and read the morning paper. Room service is also available from 9am to 9pm.
For a 4 star hotel the rates are extremely reasonable especially considering its central location. Rooms can be small, this is an old Victorian building as are all in this area of town and they can sometimes seem a bit cramped but don't let that put you off the charm and friendliness of these quaint streets. The Corona is part of the Best Western chain of hotels and therefore has a certain standard to uphold across its estate, this standard is certainly apparent in the well appointed rooms with good facilities in each. Over 65% of the people visiting the Best Western Corona talk positively about their stay, negative feedback suggests the size of the rooms can be on the small side which has already been mentioned above and as a result noise in the corridors can be heard – these are all part of the period buildings along these central London streets.
Some visitors comments;
We stayed here as we didn't want to travel home after a night at the theatre. It has to be the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Saying that the room had everything you need for a one night stay.
I stayed here 3 nights. The location was good, within walking distance of Victoria Station, restaurants, and the tube.
You get what you pay for and there is nothing wrong with this hotel - just don't expect the Ritz.
