Our Comment: Really good guest reviews at this 4 star Blomsbury hotel make it a serious contender.

As for the location, just walk across New Oxford Street and you are in Theatreland and Covent Garden where you will find hundreds of restaurants and bars.

This hotel ticks most peoples requirements, however the breakfast is rather expensive, even for London, but dont worry there are many locals places at half the price.

If you want a nice stay and have a reasonable budget this is a probable choice, if only for the prime location.

About the Radisson Bloomsbury Street Hotel

Formerly the Radisson Edwardian Marlborough, the new Radisson Bloomsbury Street has undergone quite a transformation with a £25 million make over. Alongside this hotel's fantastic location, just a few doors down from the British Museum, this hotel now has the upper hand in the style stakes, making this a great place to stay.

Guest rooms are offered as Deluxe or Suite, both containing exquisite furnishings in opulent fabrics and a muted colour tone, with Sicilian marble bathrooms and power showers for the ultimate in comfort. Additional features such as sleek flat screen TVs, complimentary high speed wireless internet access, and dedicated work areas make this one of the best hotels in London city for the modern traveller, whether you are visiting on leisure or business.

Close to Covent Garden and surrounded by quiet Georgian squares, the Bloomsbury Street Hotel London is the perfect base for a shopping trip to Oxford Street, for catching a show at a West End theatre, or enjoying a cultural weekend exploring the museums and art galleries of London. The fantastic British Museum is also just a short walk away, with over 7 million important anthropological finds from all over the world.

From enormous Egyptian statues, which used to guard Pharaoh’s tombs; to Grecian jewellery; to the Rosetta Stones, which was used to decode the mysteries of the past. If the British Museum hasn't inspired you enough (although this is unlikely), you can wander around picturesque Russell Square, which is famous for containing the residences of some of the Bloomsbury Group, which included tragic feminist icon Virginia Woolf.

After a day of sight seeing, you can enjoy a meal in the Bloomsbury Street Bar & Restaurant, a cool and intimate space, with a menu showcasing the finest seasonal British ingredients. Natural, earthy tones lend an informal vibe, creating a relaxed and deeply comfortable environment equally good for brunch or morning coffee, working lunches, dinner, drinks and cocktails. Head chef Redmond Hayward has many culinary accolades to his name, with renowned gastronome Egon Ronay describing him as a 'fine culinary artist with an unfailing sense of which flavours really work together'.

Should you wish to explore further outside the hotel, it is well located for transport links, with Tottenham Court Road tube station just a five-minute walk away. The station services the Northern and Central lines, from which you can travel with ease to other areas of London. Just one stop away is Leicester Square station, which services the Piccadilly line. From here you can travel direct to Heathrow Airport; King's Cross St Pancras Station (where the Eurostar terminates); and many more exciting attractions and sights.

If you are driving to the hotel, it is situated just off the main A4 road, which can be accessed via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone. Overnight parking is available at a reasonable rate in Marylebone Lane's NCP car park, which is a ten-minute walk from the hotel.

If you choose to stay in this hotel, make the most of your surroundings by booking a room with a view of the street, so you can people watch and familiarise yourself with this amazing, sprawling city. The Standard rooms can be a little small, so if you can stretch your budget a little, it's worth upgrading to a deluxe room.
