Blueprint Living Apartments in Red Lion Street are ideally located amongst the lively bars and clubs of Holborn, close to many of London's best-loved attractions. Red Lion Street is a peaceful, safe area, filled with elegant Victorian buildings and close to Holborn tube station, which provides a direct link to London's business and finance district at Bank on the Central line; King's Cross St Pancras Station for the Eurostar terminus; and Heathrow Airport via the Piccadilly line in about 25 minutes. So the hotel is suitable for international visitors and business and leisure guests alike.
The apartments are offered as Studio and Two-Bedroom units, which are decorated with stylish, contemporary furnishings and fixtures, with bold colours, hardwood floors and lively prints and clean designs. All apartments come with a fully fitted kitchen, a shower room, a free wireless connection, handheld phone, LCD TV, Egyptian cotton sheets, iPod docks, a weekly maid service and complimentary toiletries by Gilchrist and Soames. The hotel doesn't have a reception desk, but friendly staff are just a phone call away to help you with any queries or problems.
The apartments are in an excellent West End location, with many sights within walking distance. The British Museum, Wellcome Collection and British Library are just a 10-minute walk away. The shops and theatres of Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Theatreland; the bars and clubs of Soho, Shaftesbury Avenue, The Strand and quirky attractions such as Sir John Soane's Museum and The Cartoon Museum are all within walking distance, making your exploration of London much easier. The Farringdon district of London, an up and coming area, also has some fantastic restaurants and gastro pubs to try, where the food is made with fresh ingredients from Smithfield Market. Nightclub Fabric is also in the area, where you can dance the night away with a trendy crowd. Locally, restaurants such as The Bountiful Cow, which has an American menu; Fryer's Delight, which offers traditional fish and chips; and Asadal, which offers Korean food, are all great places to dine out. If you don't fancy eating out of an evening, a Sainsburys is located just a 5 minute walk away near Holborn tube station.
The apartments are also a good choice for prospective students, as Central St Martins College of Art and Design, The University of London and University College London campuses are both close by. Oxford Street shopping and St Paul's Cathedral are also both 10-minutes walk away.
Although Blueprint Living's Bloomsbury apartments in Doughty Street are perhaps better placed for London sights, these apartments still put you at the heart of the city and offer good value and stylish accommodation, making them an excellent choice for your trip. Some guests have found the lack of a reception an annoyance, as you have to co-ordinate a meeting with a member of staff to collect and pick up keys, but guests have generally been pleased with the apartment and the privacy and flexibility they offer.
