For over 100 years The Cafe Royal has occupied a prime Regent Street spot in the very heart of London, close to Piccadilly Square.
Now, after more than 3 years of extensive renovations, the Cafe Royal has opened its doors once again, and has been transformed into a stunning new 5 star hotel and spa.
The Cafe Royal offers guests the chance to surround themselves in sheer luxury and yet still be captivated by the timeless era from its' heyday when the Cafe Royal first opened it's doors in the 1800's.
Charming, yet contemporary, an oasis of calm in the very heart of London.
The hotel has some 159 rooms and suites, the smallest being 30 sq.m up to 212 sq.m in one of the Historic Suites.
The rooms are decorated in muted tones with a flash of bold, be it on the furniture or in the furnishings. Bathrooms are luxurious with heated floor tiles, oversize towels, marble baths and complimentary Floris toiletries.
Guests can access the in-house Butler service adding all those special little touches a 5 star hotel demands. Couple this with a complimentary unpacking / packing service, daily newspapers, complimentary WiFi, 24 hour room service, laundry and dry cleaning services. It is hard to find a service the Cafe Royal does not add to it's guests amenities.
The restaurants and bars more than live up to expectations. The beautifully ornate and stunning Grill Room is now the Cafe Royals' Champagne and Caviar Bar, superbly presented with ornate mirrors, gilded ceilings and cornices. The dress code is sophisticated and celebratory, with seating for up to 60 people. In its time the Grill Room has been host to the likes of Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth Taylor, The Beatles, Mick Jagger and David Bowie, to "name drop" just a few!
The stunning Domino Room, a wonderfully formal room, whereby dining becomes not only a sensory assault on the tastebuds but the beautiful cartouches and surrounding still life art are a delight for the eyes. The Domino Room seats a maximum of 60.
The Ten room, stylish, contemporary and open all day starting with an early breakfast from 7am until late 1am. The Ten room offers guests a host of mouth watering, tempting meals or perhaps try an afternoon tea, a very British institution.
The Bar itself is a masterpiece, a stunning and bold area of the Cafe Royal, here you can sample from the Absinthe fountain, a little nod to the past when bohemian intellects gathered at the Cafe Royal partaking in their preferred tipple, Absinthe! The Bar not only serves up a host of delicious cocktails, there is also a bar menu offering a good selection of snacks and nibbles.
So, onto the Pool and wellness centre, opening Spring 2013. This Akasha Hollistic Wellbeing Centre has a large indoor swimming pool for those ever important morning laps. The centre itself has 4 different areas which represent earths 4 natural elements, spa/water, gym/fire, yoga/air and the organic bar representing earth.
The Spa will boast a private and public Hamman and Akasha treatments. All this further complimented by the background mood lighting, ambient music and gentle aromas.
The Gym will be equipped with the latest and most advanced kenisis machines, a luxury aerobic studio for yoga, pilates or Tai Chi. Bespoke classes can be arranged.
After the workout the Organic Bar offers a large choice of healthy, organic food snacks and juices.
