The budget Central Hotel bed and breakfast is a lovely place to stay, right in the heart of London. It is well served by excellent transport links, as well as being close to a lot of the major hotspots that the city has to offer. Two minutes walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras and 5 minutes from Euston, however you arrive into London you will find the Central Hotel with ease.
There is much to see and do in this part of town, as well as it bordering on Londons famous West End. Close to Kings Cross and the hotel you will find the beautiful and impressive Regents Park, a mere 15 minute walk away. Spread out over 410 acres, this green space has many distinct areas to visit including children’s playgrounds, gardens, and boating lakes. In addition, London Zoo is situated here. This impressive zoo is home to over 700 species and has many attractions as well as different types of animals, birds and fish. A real treat. For outdoor pursuits you are also right by Regents Canal, a beautiful stretch of water, with a towpath running over 7 miles long. A perfect way to spend a sunny day, should the weather play ball and you are up to it!
For indoor attractions the British Museum is not to be missed. Seeing 6 million visitors annually and with various exhibits running over several floors, it offers one of the widest permanent collections worldwide. It is also a great showcase for British architecture, as it lies within a beautiful and historic building. There are numerous attractions the further in to the West End you head, including Londons famous theatreland. It’s not without good reason that London has a reputation for having one of the best theatre scenes worldwide. You will also be able to eat well here, there are so many restaurants and cafés to offer, meeting all tastes and budgets.
For a break from the centre of town, and for a different vibe, head to nearby Islington. As a popular and trendy area of the city it will give you more of an insight in to your average Londoner than the tourist-packed West End. As well as high street fashion retailers, you will find boutique shops for clothing and antiques here, particularly down the picturesque Camden Passage. Pubs abound for a midday fuelling.
Back at the hotel you will find comfort in the one of the 30 rooms; there is a range of standards to suit all budgets, all of which are highly affordable. At the top end are there family and double ensuite rooms, you can also have a cheaper ensuite double by picking their basement rooms and so get great value for money. Cheaper still are there rooms that come with a shared bathroom, providing excellent value for such a central location. For breakfast, which is included in the price of a room, you can get a full English (sausages, bacon, eggs etc) providing you with ample energy to explore the city. Should you wish to explore beyond the city, Kings Cross Rail Station services much of the rest of the UK, notably the East and the North (including Scotland). You can even visit Paris, or further, by taking the Eurostar from St Pancras.
