Coach and Horses Hotel

"Hotel pub with a great atmosphere and stylish rooms close to Kew Gardens"

This hotel pub in Kew, South West London, has the atmosphere of the coaching inns of bygone eras, providing home comforts, good food and cask ales for locals and guests. Those staying in any of the 31 stylish bedrooms will enjoy modern accommodation. It is the perfect place for a leisurely weekend or a longer holiday in a delightful part of London. A car park for residents makes it all the more convenient.

Kew has a London village atmosphere that has changed little since the 18th century. The Coach and Horses, which is opposite Kew Green and a short walk from Kew Gardens, has been at the centre of village life for centuries. It has belonged to Young’s Brewery since 1831. The building was constructed in the 18th Century building, expanded in Victorian times and enlarged in 2000 to offer 31 modern hotel bedrooms.

The guest rooms are air-conditioned, with comfortable beds, the option of real feather pillows on request and private bathrooms with showers. Amenities in the bedrooms include trouser press, hair dryer, direct dial telephone and plasma screen TV. Toiletries and tea and coffee are provided for free. Family rooms and interconnecting rooms are available and travel cots can be provided for babies. Services available include Wi-Fi internet access, laundry service and luggage storage.

"A friendly bar with great real ales and a superb restaurant serving seasonal fare"

Being a pub hotel run by a renowned real ale brewery, the Coach and Horses has a fantastic restaurant. On the menu are classic pub dishes and modern gastropub dining treats. The head chef uses produce that is local when possible and creates seasonal such things as English asparagus, Barnsley lamb chops, slow-cooked pork belly, fresh scallops caught in English waters and 21-day aged steaks with hand-cut chips. The dining room has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and offers breakfast, lunch and formal dinner. You can also buy bar snacks in the pub.

The bar is a superb example of a traditional English pub, with a great atmosphere, friendly bar staff and a wide range of drinks. The staff know how to take care of real cask ales, brewed by Young’s. There are several to choose from in styles that range from fruity to hoppy as well as spicy and aromatic. If you prefer wine or cocktails, then you will also find a great choice available. Coffee and tea and other soft drinks are also available.

The Coach and Horses has a large terrace overlooking Kew Green. There is also a garden at the rear of the pub. Inside, the bar is cosy in the winter with an open fire when the weather gets cold. The hotel also has function rooms that are great for parties, banquets and celebrations. The Atrium Lounge is licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

"Visit the Royal Botanic Gardens, see the Domesday Book or hop on the Tube to Central London"

There is plenty to do near the hotel. The most famous attractions in the area is Kew Gardens, or more correctly the Royal Botanic Gardens, which is a World Heritage Site and includes Kew Palace. Kew is the home of Domesday Book - on public display at The National Archives. Kew is a great place to shop and dine. There are independent retailers, cafes and restaurants in Kew Village - the parades of shops adjoining Kew Gardens station. There are also major high street retailers at the nearby Kew Retail Park. Other nearby places of interest include Kew Bridge Steam Museum, the Musical Museum, Brentford. The London Wetland Centre nature reserve is a little further away, but well worth visiting. It is easy to get into Central London by public transport from Kew.

Those making use of train transport can use Kew Gardens station, on the District Line and London Overground in Travelcard Zones 3 and 4, or Kew Bridge railway station, in Travelcard Zone 3.
