This 30-bedroom, modern 3-Star hotel is on Craven Terrace, famous as being the home of the Mitre Pub which appeared in two Woody Allen movies. The Craven Hotel is good base from which to explore London. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are a very short walk from the hotel.
Within Hyde Park lies the Serpentine boating lake, the Serpentine Gallery, a memorial to Princess Diana and Hyde Park riding stables. This large green space often hosts music events and is where the 2012 Olympics Triathlon and Open Water Swimming contests will be held. The Royal Albert Hall is a mile across Kensington Gardens. Marble Arch and the start of Oxford Street are just under a mile to the east. Queensway, a cosmopolitan street famous for restaurants offering food from all over the world, lies half a mile to the west. On Queensway you will find Whiteleys Shopping Centre, with a cinema, bowling alley and other entertainment.
Trendy Notting Hill, which hosts the Notting Hill Carnival every summer, lies just under a mile to the west of the hotel. Portobello Road, famous for antiques, is about the same distance. Imperial College, St Mary’s Campus, is 0.4 miles north of the hotel and houses the Alexander Fleming Museum. London’s West End is easily reached by tube, bus or taxi. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel are local shops, restaurants and pubs.
Craven hotel has recently been refurbished. The 30 guest rooms are decorated in a contemporary style and have modern furniture as well as en-suite baths and showers. Each room benefits from a multi-channel LCD TV, radio, clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffee-making equipment, telephone and Wi-Fi internet. Free toiletries are provided and housekeeping is done daily. Each double room comes with one comfortable double bed and each twin room has two standard single beds. Single rooms, triple rooms, quad rooms and family rooms are also available. Some of the rooms are air conditioned. Rates are reasonable and include breakfast in the spacious and stylish breakfast room.

It is 0.2 miles from Lancaster Gate station, on the Central Line, and 0.4 miles from Paddington station. Paddington mainline railway station has frequent, fast trains to Heathrow Airport and also trains to Wales and western England. Paddington tube station serves the District, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Bakerloo lines. If you arrive in London on the Eurostar at St Pancras International you can connect with the Circle Line. Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and London City airports are all within 45 minutes of Central London by train. Stations in the area are in Travelcard Zone 1. If you are driving, the A4, A40 and A40(M) are within reach of the hotel. The area is outside the London Congestion Charge Zone.
