Cromwell Road Apartments provide elegant, self-contained units along lively Cromwell Road in the Earls Court district of London. Choosing to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel gives you the added advantage of privacy and flexibility and helps to curb your budget by allowing you to spend money on groceries as opposed to a pricey meal out. Earls Court is a very good area to stay in, where you will find Earls Court Exhibition Centre, a huge complex which attracts millions of visitors a year to exhibitions and concerts, including the Ideal Home Show and A Place in the Sun Live. Just one tube stop away from Earls Court tube station, you can reach the Olympia Exhibition Centre, the oldest of the two, which hosts popular, spectacular shows such as The Royal Tournament and The London International Horse Show. The apartments are in the perfect location for anyone exhibiting at or attending an event here
The apartments are decorated in a tasteful, modern style, with a neutral colour palette to ensure a relaxing place to socialise, sleep or work. The apartments are much more spacious than many hotels in the area and come with a good range of amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen, lifts to all floors, individually controlled heating units, a weekly maid service, direct dial telephone, flat-screen satellite TV with a DVD player if needed, a washer/dryer, a swipe card entry system for added security and extra cots or high chairs for an extra charge. There is also a free Wi-Fi connection, but some guests have reported that it is unreliable, so you may prefer to use the Starbucks Cafe down the road, where you can also pick up some tasty Paninis. Cromwell Road is great for local amenities, with a Sainsbury’s supermarket, Internet cafe and dry cleaners, just a few minutes walk away. If you would prefer to dine out, and it is highly recommended, there are some great eateries nearby, including chains such as Zizzis and Byron Burger; Oddono's for fabulous Italian ice cream; and The Bombay Brasserie and Bangkok for more exotic fare.
The apartments are very well located for seeing some of London's most beloved sights. Just a 15-minute walk away you will come across South Kensington, a picturesque and affluent area, which is home to many great museums and some incredible Victorian architecture. Along and near Exhibition Road you will find the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums, where you can learn in an exciting and interactive way. Here you will also find the Imperial College London campus and close by the Institut Francais, which also includes an art house cinema called the Cine Lumiere.
The Royal Albert Hall is fantastic for concerts, especially if you've splashed out on an opera box; and Hyde Park offers a wide range of all-weather activities, including boating, horse riding, tennis and The Serpentine Gallery, where you can peruse intriguing modern art exhibitions. To the west of the park is Kensington Palace, current home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, so you may see the royals popping to the shops in Kensington High Street. For shopping enthusiasts, Kensington High Street has a good selection of high street and designer names, but there's really only one destination you should head to for London shopping, Harrods Department Store, where you can find luxury goods, which range from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Transport links from the Cromwell Road Apartments are also good, with Earls Court tube station just a few minutes walk away, from which you can travel on the District and Piccadilly lines. The District line will take you to Paddington Station for the Heathrow Express train, or you can access Heathrow directly via the Piccadilly line. You also have a direct link to King's Cross St Pancras Station where the Eurostar terminus is located and Victoria Station, where you can catch the Gatwick Express Train.
Former guests have generally favourably reviewed the apartments although some attention to detail is needed as guests have cited failing Internet connections, unmanned reception desks at night and rooms, which aren’t ready at, check in time. However, the apartments stylish interiors, little extras such as a discount at the local gym and the truly excellent location make this a good place to consider for your London stay.
