From Embankment pier you can join a river cruise or ride a speedboat down the Thames for an alternative view of the city, and ten minutes north of the hotel you will come across Parliament Square, the premier destination for tourists to the city. Westminster Palace and the Houses of Parliament, where you can take a tour of the building where Britain’s government meets, surround Parliament Square. Big Ben, London’s beloved clock tower, which has made hundreds of TV and film appearances and looks magical lit up at night, is located just next door. The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel is an expensive place to stay, but excellent service, a great range of amenities and the convenience of the location make it worth the high room rate.
