The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, the former Mint Hotel, is a stylish contemporary hotel located in one of the oldest areas of London, the Square Mile, which is now home to London's business and finance district, with the Bank of England, One America Square and many of the capital's largest investors located within walking distance, making this an excellent choice for business guests. However, this doesn't mean that tourists will feel adrift in a sea of be-suited bankers, as historic sights such as the Tower of London are located just minutes from The Doubletree.

The hotel is in an excellent London location, where ancient buildings mingle with curious modern ones such as the Swiss Re building, more affectionately known as The Gherkin. St Paul's Cathedral, a magnificent feat of design by Christopher Wren, is a 20-minute walk away and Wren's Monument to the victims of the Great Fire of London is also within walking distance. From Tower Hill tube station, two minutes' walk from the hotel, you can catch the District Line to Sloane Square for Harrods and the King's Road shops; South Kensington, for the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums and the Royal Albert hall; and Earls Court for the exhibition centre. Excel exhibition centre is also easily reached via the DLR.

The Doubletree Hotel is a sophisticated hotel with excellent service and a great location. Some may find the rooms a little characterless and the hotel does cater more for business guests, but there is no scrimping on comfort and style and amenities such as the rooftop bar, highly recommended by many previous guests make this a good accommodation choice. If staying here, rooms on the top floor offer excellent views of the surrounding area and come highly recommended.
