Discretely housed in a modern complex near the majestic Chelsea Harbour area of London, Falcon Wharf Apartments offer elegant riverside accommodation for the discerning business or leisure traveller. Placed directly on the south bank of the River Thames, the apartments offer stunning views of London from floor to ceiling windows.
The apartments are very well appointed and offer a chic hideaway from the crowds and noise of the city. You can choose from a two-bedroom or four-bedroom unit, so these properties are ideal for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The apartments are bright, airy and more spacious than many London hotels, and are decorated in a very tasteful modern style, with chic minimalist furnishings, accent walls, and an open plan kitchen and living room area, you can see that much thought has been put into the design, to facilitate socialising, relaxation and productivity.
Staying in an apartment in London is a fantastic idea, as you can experience how some of London's wealthier residents live without paying astronomical rents and you have all the services of a luxury hotel to hand when you need them. This is especially true of this complex, which includes a restaurant, serving a menu with international flavours and filling afternoon teas, the Crystal champagne bar, where you can enjoy a drink in relaxed surroundings. There is even an on-site bakery where you can pick up breakfast goodies. If you want to cook in your fully stocked kitchen, there are some small convenience stores nearby, or a Sainsbury’s in nearby Clapham Junction where you can pick up groceries.
The hotel's location is a little further out than most, but this doesn't mean you won't be able to see the sights. Clapham Junction Station is about a 20-minute walk, or a short bus ride away, where you can catch an overground train to cross Chelsea Bridge. This brings you to Chelsea Harbour, which is a fascinating area to explore, not least for the Design Centre, where you can peruse the latest in furnishings and house wares. From Chelsea Harbour, you can walk or catch a bus to the King's Road, a famous shopping street, which was once known for its counter culture shops, as Mary Quant's flagship store was there and Vivienne Westwood's controversial SEX boutique. Nowadays the shops are a little more homogenous, but some unique gems are still to be found and the designer and high street offerings will please any shopaholic. From the King's Road you can reach Sloane Square, where The Saatchi Gallery is located and nearby is the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where the Chelsea Flower Show is held every year. If that all sounds like a bit too much shopping for some, Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club is located in nearby Fulham. It gets extremely busy on game days, but any football fan willing to enter the fray will be well placed to do so from the Falcon Wharf Apartments.
From Chelsea it is also easy to access South Kensington, a picturesque, largely Victorian destination, which is very popular for tourists. This is unsurprising when you consider the high concentration of sights and attractions there. South Kensington is home to the Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum and Natural History Museum, all located along Exhibition Road; the Royal Albert Hall; Hyde Park; and nearby Kensington is home to Princess Diana's former home, Kensington Palace, so this is an area filled with history, greenery and exciting things to keep the kids amused.
The nearest travel hub from the apartments is Clapham Junction Station, which is a twenty-minute walk away. This means that travel can be tricky at night, if trains have stopped running, and you may have to get the odd taxi, but on the plus side, Clapham Junction is one of the busiest and well-serviced stations in the city. From here you can reach Waterloo and Victoria Stations in just 10 minutes, to explore the city further, travel to other areas of the UK or catch the Gatwick Express Train to the airport.
These apartments have proved popular with previous guests, for their stunning design, spaciousness and the river views are a definite hit. However, some guests have found transport difficult from the apartments, so some may wish to stay in a more central location. However, if you want to see a unique part of the city and you don't mind splashing out on the occasional taxi after a night out, these apartments are a very glamorous home away from home.
