In a quiet side street off the main roads of Earls Court, The Garden View Hotel, London is a comfortable retreat in one of Londons more alluring suburbs. It is opposite the beautiful gardens of Nevern Square and is a superior two-star hotel in a great location.

Earls Court is a quiet area of Kensington and Chelsea that is slightly more vibrant and diverse than its adjacent districts in South Kensington and Knightsbridge. Whilst it retains the elegant Victorian architecture, successive waves of immigration have led to a wider variety of people found in Earls Court, and have led to a more bohemian feel. Poles, Australians, and Filipinos have all made their home in Earls Court, and have all left their mark on the area. As well as being home to the enormous Earls Court Exhibition Centre, where Crufts and the Royal Tournament take place. There are local gems like The Troubador, a music venue and coffee shop where Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis Costello have all played. On the streets of Earls Court you can also find the United Kingdoms last police box, the blue telephone boxes that have been made famous in Doctor Who as they have appeared as the TARDIS. The nearest tube station is Earls Court.

The Garden View Hotel has 61 bedroom, each of which comes equipped with a private bathroom, free wireless internet access. The reception desk is open 24 hours a day, and there is a multilingual staff. A taxi service is available and faxes can be sent from the front desk. The hotel itself overlooks Nevern Gardens and is housed in a Victorian brick building over five floors. There is a luggage store if you want to explore London before checking in or after checking out.

The Earls Court location makes the Garden View Hotel eminently convenient for Heathrow, as it is a direct ride n the Piccadilly Line from the airport terminal to Earls Court station. From there you are just a five minute walk to the hotel. The Piccadilly Line carries on into town, and can whisk you directly into the heart of the West End, where it stops at Green Park, Piccadilly Circus, and Leicester Square. The shopping of Knightsbridge, the museums of South Kensington, as well as the Earls Court Exhibition Centre mean that you are in a prime location for sightseeing when you are in Earls Court.

The rooms and bathrooms are small but finctional, clean and comfortable, and the hotel is a good example of the superior two star type. Breakfast consists of cereal, toasts, jam and fruit, served in a small breakfast room. There is no air conditioning in the hotel, but Londons weather being what it is that is not often a problem, as it rarely becomes unbearably hot in the city, especially to those visitors who are used to warmer climes. In all, the Garden View Hotel is a basic hotel in a great location that offers access to all that London has to offer.
