Search for cheap hotels near Hanger Lane
This area in West London takes its name from the major road called Hanger Lane near Ealing and Park Royal, which is part of the main North Circular road that goes around the edges of the capital. For this reason, hotels in the area are particularly popular with drivers who need easy access to London, the West of England and Heathrow Airport.
However, the area offers far more than just convenient transport links. Those who stay at hotels near Hanger Lane can also find plenty of things to do and see. Pitzhanger Manor Gallery and House, in nearby Ealing, makes a delightful day out. The magnificent building was owned by the architect John Soane from 1800 to 1810. He radically rebuilt it and it is now a showcase of Soane's design as well as hosting exhibitions and events. The building stands in Walpole Park, a delightful public park with an ornamental lake.
Other local attractions include the Hoover Building, which is a fine example of Art Deco architecture dating from 1932, the London Motorcycle Museum, which houses classic and British motorcycles including the last Triumph Bonneville T140 and the Wharncliffe Viaduct, a impressive Victorian brick railway viaduct constructed by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
The Museum of Asian Music is within striking distance of Hanger Lane. It offers concerts, events and exhibitions throughout the year. For entertainment, Royale Leisure Park in nearby Park Royal, Acton, has a multiplex cinema, a disco, bowling, restaurants and bars. A short drive from Hanger Lane is Wembley stadium and arena, England’s national football stadium.
As well as Walpole Park, there are many other green spaces close to Hanger Lane. These include Acton Park, Southall Park and Ealing Common, which is perfect for a stroll or a picnic and hosts several annual festivals, including a beer festival, a blues festival, a jazz festival, a comedy festival, a global festival and comedy in the park.
Southall also lies nearby and is situated on the Grand Union Canal. This lovely waterway is still open to traffic and is used by pleasure craft. A walk along the towpath is delightful on a summer’s day. Southall itself has a thriving Asian community and is called Little India. It is one of the best places in London to enjoy Indian cuisine and has plenty of shops and a bustling market.
The road Hanger Lane forms the part of A406 North Circular road that crosses the A4020 Uxbridge Road to meet the A40 Western Avenue at the Hanger Lane Gyratory System. This means it is ideal for drivers who want to be able to find their hotel quickly and easily, and also use their hotel as a base for driving on to other locations and into Central London. The area is outside the London Congestion Charge Zone.
The main tube station in the area is called Hanger Lane. It is on the Central Line, in Travelcard Zone 3. Park Royal station, on the Piccadilly Line, is close by. Other tube stations are at North Ealing, on the Piccadilly Line, and North Acton, on the Central Line. This means that it is very easy to get into Central London and the West End for sightseeing, shopping and entertainment or business activities. From Heathrow Airport, you can catch the Piccadilly Line directly to Park Royal station. The airport is also only a short drive away.
