About the Hayward Gallery
The Hayward Gallery sits nicely next to additional buildings based in the Southbank area such as the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall as well as the Purcell Room. Other venues you can find inside feature the Royal National Theatre and British Film Institute which is a hub of great movie information and showings.
The Hayward has been creating an extensive choice of expositions since the late 1960’s dedicated to modern and historical art. Named after Sir Isaac Hayward, it houses National Touring displays not to mention being accountable for the Arts Council Collection. It is truly one of the standout destinations when you visit the Southbank.
The Hayward welcomes at least three temporary exhibitions during a 12 month period. Previous displays have included the great work of Da Vinci, Dan Flavin and Antony Gormley.
If you are in need of respite or just a break then head for the relaxing café which serves a wealth of drinks and snacks. This transforms at night into Concrete, a cool bar where young and old enjoy a glass of wine or two.
If that’s not enough then check out the free contemporary shows which are in the Hayward Project Space.
