Hilton London Metropole Hotel

"Top reviews from this central London mega hotel"

Part of the Hilton group of hotels, The Metropole Hotel London reflects the brand's high standards and is located in the northern central area next to the A40 / M40 arterial road from the M25.

"Easy walking distance access to the Heathrow Express"

This area is called Paddington and is just one mile from the Oxford Street and Mayfair districts of London. The Metropole is one of the largest four-star hotels in London with more than 1,000 bedrooms. The immediate area is a calm and picturesque part of London and it is close to many fantastic sights, shops and restaurants, with Oxford Street and Regents Street just a fifteen-minute walk away.

"Good for Lords Cricket Ground and Marylebone"

The hotel has a wide selection of well-appointed bedrooms, ranging from Superior to Executive. All are outfitted in stylish, contemporary furnishings in a tasteful colour palette of mustards and plums with all the modern facilities the modern guest will require to conduct business, keep connected or relax. Amenities include a large LCD TV, a direct dial phone, tea and coffee making facilities, a broadband and Wi-fi Internet connection, 24-hour room service and much more.

"Fantastic leisure facilities including a swimming pool and gym"

The hotel has all the amenities you would expect from a four-star hotel, plus a few imaginative and thoughtful extras. These include vast public areas, the Minako restaurant offering a delicious menu of Thai cuisine, a coffee bar, a business centre with printing capabilities, a hair salon offering beauty treatments and a sports bar where you ca relax with a drink. There is a health club complete with a small pool, sauna and steam room.

"On site car parking"

The hotel is easily accessible from Paddington Station where the London Heathrow Express arrives every 15 minutes. You can also access Victoria Station for the Gatwick Express Train and King's Cross St Pancras for the Eurostar Terminal. Queensway and Bayswater Underground stations are also both a five-minute walk away. If you are driving to the hotel, it can be accessed from the main A4 road, via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone. On-site parking is available, but a more reasonable car park choice is the NCP just a few minutes walk away in Queensway.

Being located at the heart of Paddington means that the hotel is nestled between some of London's most exciting spots for first time visitors and regulars alike. You are just a short walk away from the exciting range of activities in Hyde Park, where you can escape the noise and crowds of the city to enjoy horse rides, boat rides, The Serpentine Gallery and Pavilion, tennis courts and the occasional open-air concert if the weather allows. Kensington Palace and Gardens is situated on the opposite side of Hyde Park, containing the Princess Diana memorial and her former home, the stunning, Christopher Wren designed palace, which houses thousands of baroque furnishings and antiques as well as The Orangery restaurant where you can take part in the quintessentially British ritual of afternoon tea whilst gazing out at the landscaped gardens. The Whiteley's shopping complex with over 70 shops and a cinema, and Oxford Street, which contains over 300 shops are both within walking distance, so you can indulge in some retail therapy to suit any budget. If you are travelling with children, they will enjoy Madame Tussaud's waxwork museum in nearby Baker Street and Regent's Park, to the north of the hotel, where London Zoo is located.

As a Hilton hotel, a good stay comes as standard and the Hilton London Metropole is no exception. The hotel's best feature is its very central location, but the comfortable rooms a friendly service are just the cherry on top. Some guests, who want to experience the more traditional side of London, may find a brand hotel lacks character, but this hotel is a very pleasant base for business travellers and those who want a reasonable hub from which to explore. The best rooms are the Executive class, which includes access to the very trendy Executive lounge and the Tower rooms, which are the most modern in the hotel, so be sure to request these at check in.
