Hilton Trafalgar Hotel

The Trafalgar Hilton is a trendy boutique style hotel in the heart of London. Discretely positioned near the bustling environs of Trafalgar Square, where London's largest galleries are located; the Trafalgar mixes cutting edge design, elite standards of service and a trusted brand name with the vibrant and diverse district to create a haven for business and leisure travellers. From the moment you enter the grand Victorian building, you will be greeted with a friendly smile and relaxed surroundings to make you feel right at home.

The Trafalgar's guest rooms are available as Standard, Deluxe or Studio, but all are very well appointed and have stunning minimalist fixtures. From an ambient lighting scheme, to crisp linens and contrasting walnut wood furniture, with the odd flourish of colour, you will find it easy to relax and unwind in your room. In-room amenities ensure that you have everything you need to hand, including a stereo and DVD system, an LCD TV, complimentary aromatherapy toiletries, a dual line telephone, mist-free bathroom mirror, a lit make-up mirror, complimentary magazines and Wi-fi access, show the level of attention to detail involved in the design of each room.

The hotel includes a state of the art gym with the latest TechnoGym equipment and bright decor to motivate you. The hotel also offers a comprehensive concierge service, multi-lingual staff, laundry and valet services and a luggage hold to ensure you will have a hassle free stay. The hotel's award winning Rockwell Restaurant offers contemporary cuisine using seasonal ingredients in a chic minimalist dining hall with clean lines and accents of bright colour. The bar continues the theme of understated elegance with white leather couches and black velvet and walnut wood walls, playfully mixing textures and styles to create a unique drinking space in which to enjoy a refreshing designer cocktail. If the weather isn't drizzling, you can experience the stunning Vista Sky Bar. Situated on the roof, this bar has simply stunning views of the surrounding area.

The surrounding area is one of London's finest, set in picturesque historic Trafalgar Square; many of London's sights are just a few minutes' walk away. On the square itself, you can visit the fascinating art collections in The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery, which encompass Old Masters and new. You can see Nelson's column and the famous lion statues in the centre of the square. The theatres of Covent Garden and the Strand are just ten minutes' walk away, including Drury Lane and the Royal Opera House. Covent Garden is also renowned for its cobbled streets, street performers and wide array of high street and independent boutiques, to keep any shopping enthusiast happy. A little further away, a mile an a half of shops awaits you on Oxford Street, including Selfridges department store, the Topshop flagship store and a large Marks and Spencer’s for great British style and food. If you are travelling with children, lively Piccadilly Circus contains the Trocadero amusement arcade and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, where you can see some of the most bizarre sights from around the globe. If you want to experience the grander side of London, a pleasant stroll down the mall past St James Park brings you to Queen Elizabeth II's London residence, which you can tour for a few months a year, or if you miss these dates, you can watch the fascinating, centuries old Changing of the Guard Ceremony.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring the rest of London and reaching major UK travel hubs. Located just a few minutes' walk from Charing Cross tube station, which services the Bakerloo and Northern lines. From here you can reach Paddington Station, where the Gatwick Express terminates; or you can travel one stop to Leicester Square tube station, from which you can reach Heathrow Airport and the King's Cross St Pancras Eurostar terminus.  If you are driving to the hotel, it is situated just off the main A4 road, which can be accessed via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone.

The Hilton Trafalgar's modern design features and attention to detail seem to elevate it beyond its brand and imbue it with plenty of character. Its location also makes up for the hefty room rates, with many sights on your doorstep for the ultimate convenience. To make your stay extra special, you can request a room with a very good view of Nelson atop his column, but you may have to pay a supplement for the pleasure. Guests should also be aware that the rooftop bar, one of the hotel's biggest draws, is closed in rainy weather, so check the forecast to avoid disappointment.
