If you want to stay somewhere with a dash of English eccentricity and charm, the Holiday Inn's slightly bland, chain status may put you off, but despite its dearth of character, the hotel's location, with the advantage of walking to most of London's biggest sights and friendly staff make it a reasonable choice for an area which can be very overpriced. To make your stay as enjoyable as possible, choose a room on a higher floor to avoid traffic noise, and go to one of the many cafes nearby, including EAT, Prêt A Manger and Starbucks, just a few minutes' walk away for breakfast, as the hotel offering is good but expensive.
