These include Queensway, Notting Hill, Hyde Park and major transport hub Paddington station, where the Heathrow Express train terminates, which is just round the corner. Situated in one of the elegant Victorian townhouses, which line the surrounding streets of Bayswater, the hotel offers guests contemporary comfort and amenities with a twist of traditional style.
Hotel 43 offers a range of Single, Double and Family rooms, in an elegant contemporary style, with a calming colour palette of creams and whites, with tasteful design touches to ensure a relaxing stay. Rooms include linens; an en-suite toilet; TV with a built in DVD player; a free Wi-fi connection; a small kitchenette units with fridges, hobs and microwaves (in some rooms); and complimentary toiletries. A continental breakfast with a good selection of meats and cheeses is included in the room price, but the hotel does not include a restaurant; however there are many fantastic options in the surrounding area. For light snacks visit Patisserie Valerie or The Idlers Cafe, or for something a little more substantial, visit The Four Seasons for very popular Chinese food, or Aphrodite Taverna for tasty Greek cuisine.
The hotel is very well located for viewing the many sights of west London. Whether you are interested in history, art, outdoor activities, shopping or are trying to entertain the kids, you will find fun and inspiring activities nearby. Hyde Park is just a few minutes walk away, where you can enjoy boat and horse rides, rent tennis courts, visit Speaker's Corner or simply enjoy the sights of London's largest green space. As well as mid-size galleries such as Green Cardamom and Lisson Gallery, progressive fine art can be found in The Serpentine Gallery, which has hosted exhibitions by Wolfgang Tillmans, Andy Warhol and Henry Moore. Beyond the park is Kensington, where you will find a wide range of unique boutiques, Harrods Department Store, London's museum district, The Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace and Gardens, where Princess Diana used to live, which now houses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (otherwise known as Kate and Wills). Oxford Street shops are a 20 minute walk to the east of the hotel, where you will find over 300 shops and the exclusive district of Mayfair is also within walking distance, where you will find the Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace.
The hotel is easily accessible from Paddington Station where the London Heathrow Express arrives every 15 minutes. You can also access Victoria Station for the Gatwick Express Train and King's Cross St Pancras for the Eurostar Terminal. Both Queensway and Bayswater Underground stations are also a five-minute walk away. If you are driving to the hotel, it can be accessed from the main A4 road, via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone. A reasonable car park choice is the NCP just a few minutes walk away in Queensway.
Hotel 43 offers cosy accommodation in a great location, and thoughtful touches such as towels folded into swans and friendly staff make it a welcoming place to stay, but the hotel is lacking in facilities and imaginative decor, so you may be able to find a better option for the price if you re visiting for a special occasion.
