Hotel Ibis London Wembley is part of an international chain of budget hotels. The Wembley version is housed in a modern building with a 15-storey tower and an adjacent glass block with eight floors. Although it’s almost eight miles from London’s centre, the hotel has good public transport links and you can be in the heart of the capital in as little as 35 minutes.
The main feature of this hotel is its proximity to one of the UK’s foremost sporting stadiums, Wembley – it’s just a few minutes walk away. The stadium is home to England’s national soccer team and you can see the iconic arch that soars above the stadium from the hotel. The stadium complex includes Wembley Arena which hosts concerts by leading international acts. Wembley is also a venue for major conferences and trade events.
There is a choice of restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Family-run Mesopotamia, about a 15-minute walk away, serves Iraqi cuisine including dishes like Rubianne bi Tahina (king prawns with red pepper sauce), Hamidh Hulu (lamb shank with dried apricot, prunes and spices), and vegetarian Mukluba (aubergines, tomatoes, peppers and courgette with rice and spices). As you might guess, Allso Thai, a couple of minutes' walk from Mesopotamia, serves Thai cuisine. Alisan, a 10-minute walk from the hotel, is a Chinese restaurant offering a full a la carte menu as well as an extensive selection of dim sum dishes. If Indian food is your passion, try the Blue Room Bar & Restaurant, just a three-minute walk from the hotel.
The nearest green space of any size is King Edward VII Park, less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. This has some interesting architectural features including spacious terraces and sweeping steps decorated with capitals and urns. It also has groves of mature horse chestnuts, willows and poplars and there’s a well-equipped children’s play area.
If golf is your sport, head for Sudbury Golf Course which has 18 holes laid out over parkland and is a par 69. A couple of miles from the hotel, the club welcomes non-members on weekdays. Facilities include two bars, a practice ground, a putting green and a shop.

This station is on one of London’s urban railways which will whisk you into Marylebone Station in about 15 minutes. Nearby London Underground stations offer connections to other central London destinations.
London Underground’s Wembley Central Station is a 12-minute walk from the hotel. It’s on the Bakerloo Line and you can catch a train from there to Piccadilly Circus, a 30-minute journey.
Wembley Park, another London Underground Station, is on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines and is 15 minutes walk from the hotel. You can travel on the Jubilee Line to Green Park Station, a short walk from Buckingham Palace, in just over 20 minutes.
The Ibis London Wembley is eight miles west of central London on the doorstep of international sporting venue Wembley Stadium. This budget option offers excellent transport links.
