Knaresborough Serviced Apartments are set in the 19th century town houses and leafy garden squares of Earls Court, in a very convenient location for those exhibiting at or visiting a concert, trade show or event at Earls Court exhibition centre, and the Olympia exhibition centre, which is just one tube stop away on the District line. The self-contained units provide more privacy and flexibility than a hotel, with all the benefits of hotel services and you can enjoy feeling like a local in London.
The apartments are available up to family sizes, so they are perfect for those visiting with children, or those who want a retreat from the bustling streets of the city. The units are tastefully decorated in a modern style, with an open plan kitchen, living and dining room area and en-suite bathrooms. Amenities include tea and coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fan, ironing facilities, a washing machine and extra towels and linens for a small surcharge. Some guests have stated that facilities were missing or broken when they checked in, so be sure to do a quick inventory on arrival to ensure you have everything you need. The hotel also has a 24-hour reception, luggage storage and a car rental service and free Wi-Fi is included in the rate. If you are arriving late, it is best to let the hotel know in advance, as some guests have been left waiting for someone to answer the front door.
The apartments are in a location, which most Londoners would be very happy to live in, with the elegant South Kensington district, just a fifteen-minute walk away. Here you will find the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums; The Royal Albert Hall, the Prince Albert monument; and Kensington Palace and Gardens close by. You are also just a short walk away from London's largest green space, Hyde Park, where you won't believe you are in the middle of a busy metropolis. Here you can enjoy a range of outdoor activities such as boating and horse riding or you can take shelter in the Serpentine Modern art gallery if it starts to rain.
In South Kensington and along Kensington High Street, you will find some very exclusive shops, where you can buy high street and designer goods and a few unique pieces in the independent boutiques dotted about. Here you will also find a fantastic range of eateries, including chains such as Pizza Express and Zizzis, or Sticky Fingers, owned by The Rolling Stones' Bill Wyman, or for a very exclusive meal try The Roof Gardens, where after your meal you can explore the hidden gardens, which contain oak trees and live flamingos! If you want to pick up some cooking ingredients, Kensington High Street is home to a huge Whole Foods supermarket, which has an extensive range of cheeses and some very healthy wares, including vegan cake.
Transport links from the apartments are also good, with Earls Court tube station just a few minutes walk away, from which you can travel on the District and Piccadilly lines. The District line will take you to Paddington Station for the Heathrow Express train, or you can access Heathrow directly via the Piccadilly line. You also have a direct link to King's Cross St Pancras Station where the Eurostar terminus is located.
These apartments offer a convenient and well-priced place to stay in a desirable area, so they are a good choice for those travelling on a budget, however there are some reports of surly staff. However, this is a minor gripe, which can be easily overlooked if you want to have your own London residence for a short while.
