In an elegant Victorian town house, the London Town Hotel, London is a two-star hotel in a convenient part of London. Just around the corner from Earls Court station and a short walk from some of its major attractions, the London Town Hotel is worth checking out if you are looking for a good, comfortable hotel in a good location.
Earls Court is, in many ways, an ideal spot from which to visit London. With the District Line running through Earls Court tube you have access to almost any part of London, all the way out to Richmond and Wimbledon, or deep into the East End. It also has a direct connection from Heathrow Airport on the Piccadilly Line, which actually stops at the airport terminals. Within 45 minutes you can travel from Earls Court to Heathrow without having to change at all. The Piccadilly Line then goes on into town, giving easy access to the West End, and many of the major sightseeing destinations. Earls Court, of course, has attractions of its own including the major exhibition centres at Olympia and the Earls Court Exhibition Centre where Crufts and the Royal Tournament are held every year. It also has a wealth of eateries and drinkeries including the Troubadour Club, a music venue and coffee shop where the likes of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis Costello have all played. It is also near to the elegant shopping districts in Knightsbridge and on High Street Kensington, and all of the museums and concert halls in refined South Ken.
The town house itself was built in 1877 and it has the grand proportions you would expect of a Victorian property. All rooms are en suite, have Freeview digital TV, and hairdryers. There is a guests lounge where patrons can make themselves complimentary teas and coffees, and enjoy the free wireless internet. There is also a standalone internet terminal, for anyone who might need it. There is also a terrace and a garden. Reception can arrange storing valuables in a safe, can book sightseeing or theatre tickets for you and arrange wake-up calls. There are no parking facilities at the hotel itself. A booking at the hotel also gives you free use of a local gym.
The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the continental breakfast often wins plaudits from the customers. It is comfortable and nestled in the heart of one of Kensington and Chelseas most bohemian districts. Successive waves of immigration have left Earls Court with a more diverse and vibrant local culture than many of the adjacent areas, and this can be seen in the many, many different kinds of shops and restaurants you can find in Earls Court.
This bed and breakfast is incredibly close to the tube, and so is very handy for any international travellers. It is comfortable, offers good facilities, great value for money, and convenience no matter what you want to discover in London. Some have found road or water pipe noise a drawback to the hotel, but, in all, it represents good value, convenience, and comfort.
