The hotel includes a fantastic range of amenities, with a fully fitted fitness centre, with cardiovascular equipment, sauna, solarium and a heated pool, a real plus as many London hotels cannot accommodate a pool. The hotel also has a spa with a range of massages and beauty treatments. The hotel restaurant, Brasserie Centrale, offers a tempting menu with flavours from around the globe and Chats Cafe Bar offers lighter snacks, afternoon tea and a range of drinks throughout the day. Hotel staff are very friendly and on hand 24 hours a day, and a range of extra facilities, including safety deposit boxes, a hair and beauty salon, valet, dry cleaning, shoeshine, concierge and turn down service are offered to ensure guests have all they need during their stay.
The hotel is in an excellent location from which to explore sights. Situated in the affluent and picturesque Swiss Cottage area of London, Primrose Hill is practically on the hotel's doorstep, where you can enjoy a picnic, or you can take a 7-minute stroll to Regent's Park, an attractive green space where you can go boating, watch a play in the open-air theatre or visit London's most exotic residents at London Zoo. The area is also great for shopping, with the eclectic boutiques and delicatessens of Primrose Hill close by and Camden Market just a 15-minute walk away, for day-glow trinkets and vintage wares. Camden is also home to some of London's best gig venues, with the Roundhouse, Bartok, The Barfly, The Underworld, the Jazz Cafe, Proud Camden, Koko and many more, it truly is the home of London's music scene, where you can watch everything from Death Metal to Pop.
The hotel has excellent transport links; with Swiss Cottage tube station just a five minute walk away. From Swiss Cottage you can catch the Jubilee Line to Bond Street, for some of the city's most expensive shops; Westminster, for Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and 10 Downing Street; and Waterloo for the South Bank exhibition centres, The London Eye and travel to other areas of the UK.
The Marriott may not suit everyone, as a chain hotel it does lack the personality that some boutique hotels have in abundance; however, comfortable spacious rooms and excellent leisure facilities may tip the balance in the Marriott's favour. Some of the hotel's rooms have balconies offering views of the local area, which are very pleasant; however, rooms facing the road can be noisy, so if you are a light sleeper stay away from the main road and the elevator shafts, which can also be noisy at times.
