Although many bars and restaurants are located nearby (including Langhams Brasserie, The Belvedere and Cambio De Tercio, which offers a renowned selection of Spanish food) the Millennium Gloucester Hotel offers drinks in laid back surroundings at Humphreys Bar and food at the Bugis Brasserie, which offers Cantonese Singaporean food and a breakfast buffet in the South West 7 dining room. there is also a casino within the building.
"Guaranteed car parking, no advance booking required"
The hotel is well appointed for business guests and special events with a variety of stylish and spacious conference and meeting rooms and a business centre. They also offer a state of the art fitness centre for guests to use. The underground car park is huge so no need to advance book.
The hotel decor is occasionally quirky, with a large stag statue in the lobby and palm trees indoors, which adds to the luxury of the surroundings. Staff are efficient and friendly and bedrooms are well sized, with satellite TV, broadband internet and a direct dial telephone; however before you book, it should be noted that the club rooms offer a significant improvement on the standard and superior plus rooms and also give you access to the hotel Club Lounge and a concierge service.
Some guests have noted that the hotel mattresses were not up to scratch and the handicapped rooms are reportedly difficult to navigate.
"This hotel has a very big Grosvenor Casino in the basement"
As the hotel is situated in a peaceful side street in South Kensington, the rooms are quiet; however if you are looking to stay up all night, most Kensington bars close at 12 am, so a location further in central London may be more suitable. Where this hotel stands out is the excellent, convenient location and comfortable, stylish atmosphere.
As good a location as it gets. The area is highly safe to walk around even at night. The Gloucester Road tube station can get you right across London into the City and the Tower of London with no changes.
The hotel is not the most modern in the area or the cheapest but the location says it all.
All around the hotel are restaurants and bars to suit every possible taste!
Our tip would be to join the casino in the basement to take advantage of the cheap drinks and food served very late every night.
