New Dawn Hotel

Enjoy the convenience of a cosy London retreat, perfectly located in fashionable Queensway, a buzzing cosmopolitan area that brims with the hustle and bustle of a large city. The New Dawn Hotel is opposite Whiteley’s Shopping and Leisure Complex, where you can choose from eight cinema screens, an array of shops, restaurants and modern health club facilities. Housed in an elegant, white 19th century building, typical of the townhouses that line the streets of surrounding Bayswater, you will be welcomed immediately by the friendly staff of this family run hotel.

The New Dawn Hotel offers affordable en-suite rooms, which are fully equipped to suit its visitors requirements, complete with en-suite bathrooms, a colour TV and direct-dial phone; with the added convenience of being minutes away from everything this great city has to offer. Guests can relax in a comfortable room after a busy day shopping or a night of partying.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, although the cosy dining room is open for continental breakfasts.  Nearby  there are plenty of cafes and eateries to tempt your taste buds. Whether you want a very fancy breakfast at Patisserie Valerie or cheap and cheerful Paninis at the Starbucks in Queensway (which also offers a free Wi-fi connection), or if you want an elegant, three-course meal at Le Cafe Anglais or The Ark, which serves tasty Italian food, you definitely will not go hungry.

This hotel is perfect for those on a budget who wish to be in a central location. The surrounding areas are packed with many exciting activities, unique shops and historic sights. Notting Hill to the west is one of London's most charming neighbourhoods, filled with trendy cafes bars and restaurants, some with a distinct history of their own and a fabulous range of quirky boutiques. If you don't arrive in time for the party atmosphere of the Notting Hill Carnival, you can trawl the Portobello Market for a one of a kind antique. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are both within walking distance, where you can visit the Princess Diana Memorial, the Peter Pan statue, historic Rotten Row, Speakers' Corner and The Serpentine Gallery with its yearly artist-designed Pavilion. There are also a wide range of outdoor activities to entertain all ages, from high octane shuttle boat rides on the Serpentine Lake, to relaxing horse rides through the greenery and flowering beds. You can also pay a visit to the former home of Princes Diana, Kensington Palace, which holds a fascinating programme of talks and exhibitions. West End shops, theatres and museums are just minutes away in Oxford Street, which contains over a mile and a half of shopping heaven; and Kensington, where the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums are located. With all this and more within 20 minutes walk from the hotel, location truly is the first priority.

The hotel is in a great location for getting to and from Central London, located just a five-minute walk away from Bayswater tube station, which services the District and Circle lines. From here you have direct links to Paddington Station, just over 1 mile away  (where the Heathrow Express Train terminates), Victoria Station is across town, some 3 miles distance (where the Gatwick Express Train terminates). If you are driving to the hotel, it is situated near the main A4 road, which can be accessed via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone. An NCP car park is located very nearby in Queensway for overnight parking.

New Dawn Hotel, may offer basic accommodation, but it does so with a friendly demeanor and a focus on comfort, and for the winning combination of cheap room rates with a very central location, you will be happy to overlook the lack of a restaurant and slightly cramped rooms. Ensure that you adjust your expectations accordingly before you arrive and you will have a great stay in a cheerful establishment, to get the best night's sleep, request a room near the back of the hotel as the road can get a bit noisy at night.
