Single Room

Set in a four-storey Victorian terrace on busy Shepherd’s Bush Road, the Pearl Hotel is about three miles west of the very centre of London. This budget accommodation in the Shepherd’s Bush neighbourhood makes a good base for the visitor to the capital since it has two London Underground Stations within easy walking distance. This means you can be in the heart of London in as little as 15 minutes.

The Pearl Hotel offers a 24-hour check in service and continental breakfast is available from 7.30 to 9 am each morning for an extra charge. Guestrooms, which are all ensuite and non-smoking, have free wifi, flatscreen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities. Other amenities include complimentary toiletries and hairdryers. Single, twin, double and triple rooms are available and all are simply furnished and decorated in neutral tones.

You can walk to Holland Park from the hotel in about 15 minutes. There, you’ll find 55 acres of grassland, formal gardens and woodland. The park has a café with an outdoor section that’s very popular in summer, and there’s an education centre that runs wildlife events for children and adults throughout the year.

If you’re looking for somewhere to dine, take the 10-minute walk to the Westfield shopping centre. As well as some 250 shops and a 14-screen multiplex, this centre is home to around 50 restaurants. Try the centre’s Southern Terrace where many of the restaurants are concentrated. If you’re in the mood for informal dining go to Wagamama, a noodle restaurant with a contemporary dining room feel where you share large tables with other diners. For Mexican food, go to Wacaca which has an alfresco section, and for authentic Italian cooking dine at Ciao Baby Cucina which also sells homebaked Italian breads and cakes.

Another nearby dining location is Hammersmith, which is just one stop away by London Underground from Goldhawk Road. You could also walk to Hammersmith Broadway in about 10 minutes. Walk along King Street from Hammersmith Station and you’ll come to Minato, a Japanese restaurant, in about five minutes. Another few minutes will bring you to Sagar serving South Indian food, and a little further along there’s Casa Mia, an Italian restaurant.

Once you’re at Hammersmith Station, you can walk to the River Thames in about 10 minutes. Head to Hammersmith Bridge from where you can join a charming riverside walkway that runs along the north bank of the Thames. Stop off at the Blue Anchor for a drink – in the summer this pub has outdoor seating overlooking the river. Walk on a little further and you’ll come to Furnival Gardens, a pleasant green space with a children’s play area.

The Pearl is a five-minute walk from London Underground’s Goldhawk Road Station which is on the Circle and the Hammersmith & City lines. You can catch a train from here to King’s Cross, the stop for St Pancras International Station. This beautifully restored 19th century station offers Eurostar connections via the high-speed rail link through the Channel Tunnel to Paris, Brussels and other European destinations.

Take a train from Goldhawk Road one stop to Hammersmith and change there to the Piccadilly Line which will take you direct to Heathrow Airport in about 55 minutes.

Shepherd’s Bush Station on the Central line is a seven-minute walk from the hotel, just on the other side of Shepherd’s Bush Green. Eastward bound trains from there will speed you to Oxford Circus in 15 minutes. Alight there to explore the shopping of Oxford Street and Regent’s Street, or to take a stroll down Regent’s Street to Piccadilly Circus. Five minutes further eastwards from Oxford Circus Station, is St Paul's Station. This is adjacent to Sir Christopher Wren’s iconic masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral.
