Search for cheapest prices: Presidential Apartments
Apartments in London's West End are a rare and expensive commodity; with so many historic buildings and such vibrant surroundings, any which come on the market, are snapped up quickly for a tidy sum. However, it is possible for tourists in London to experience the giddy thrill of living in the very centre, by choosing to stay in a serviced apartment rather than a hotel, a choice, which will also offer you more flexibility and privacy. Presidential Apartments offer a range of well-appointed, modern, self-service units in Marylebone, just minutes from the 300-plus shops of Oxford Street, which offer convenient navigation of the city and far prices for visitors who want to be in the centre of the action.
Apartments are offered in Studio and One-Bedroom sizes and all are decorated in a tasteful, clean, minimalist style, with bright open-plan spaces, a fully fitted kitchen and all the amenities you will need during your stay. These include, DVD players, a large Plasma-screen TV, a free Wi-Fi Internet connection, under floor heating in bathrooms and a washer/dryer in the kitchen. Of course, staying in an Apart-Hotel means that you can enjoy the services of a hotel at a discrete distance, and Presidential Apartments also offers a Concierge service, car hire, the option to have food or groceries delivered, a laundry service, welcome pack and staff who are on call 24 hours a day to help with any queries or problems you may have.
The hotel is extraordinarily well placed for local amenities and sights. Marks and Spencers, Tesco and Sainsburys supermarkets are all just minutes away from the apartments, where you can stock up on groceries, and the surrounding area has plenty of restaurants and cafes if you decide to take a night off from cooking. Durrants offers hearty, traditional British cuisine; Defune offers sophisticated Japanese fare; and Il Baretto is popular Italian restaurant just a few minutes walk from your apartment.
The apartments are in a superb location from which to explore London sights. Marylebone is home to Madame Tussaud's and The Sherlock Holmes Museum, which will keep any kids amused. Oxford Street and Regent Street are mere minutes from your door, offering megastores such as Selfridges, Hamleys and the Topshop flagship store. Marble Arch, once the smallest police station in the UK is a five-minute walk away, and beyond that Hyde Park offers a wide range of all-weather activities, including modern art exhibitions at The Serpentine, boating, tennis and horse riding. Mayfair is a short stroll from the apartments, where you will find exclusive shops such as the Fortnum and Mason food emporium and Savile Row's tailors. Beyond this, a 15-minute walk away, lays London's Theatreland district, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus. Plenty to keep you occupied throughout your stay.
The apartments are also conveniently located for transport to other areas of London and major transport hubs outside the city. Oxford Circus tube station is a 7-minute walk away, where you can catch the Victoria line to Victoria Station, for the Gatwick Express train; the Bakerloo line to Paddington Station, for the Heathrow Express Train; and the Central line to London's business and finance district at Bank.
Presidential Apartments have been spoken of highly by previous guests, who were impressed with the cleanliness and maintenance of the apartments, although some found the appliances a little confusing to control. The combination of privacy, location and price can't be beaten and makes this a very good choice for people travelling to London. If you are travelling with a group, be aware that you might be a little cramped, and if arriving in London in winter, ask for an extra heater, which staff will be happy to supply, and rooms on higher floors, near the back of the building tend to provide a more peaceful night's sleep.
