The Pullman St Pancras (previously the Novotel St Pancras) is an AA, 4-star, new generation Novotel in central London, just 15 minutes from Waterloo Station by underground (Northern Line) and moments from Kings Cross St Pancras and Euston stations, for the new Eurostar terminus and transport links to all over the UK. Euston Road itself is a major dual carriageway which links directly with the A40 which itself links out to the West of England and also Heathrow Airport (via A302). The Pullman is a cut above your average chain hotel, with reliable service, funky furniture and fittings in and around the rooms and a fantastic London location.
From the hotel, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, the West End and the City are all 15 minutes away by tube, for shops, London's financial and business district and London's Theatreland district. The King's Cross area has also been greatly regenerated since the arrival of the Eurostar terminus and this has seen some independent boutiques, trendy bars and restaurants pop up near the station. As such the area has become a trendy place to spend a night out, with The Scala, Lexington and Mondo Water Rats gig venues; The Crypt and The Horse Hospital art galleries in nearby Euston; The British Library; and The New Diorama and Bloomsbury Theatres all within a few minutes walk of the hotel.
The hotel comprises of 312 bedrooms, in Superior and Executive classes, and suites, all of which are decorated in a chic modern style, with tiled bathrooms, clean lines and the odd dash of colour to liven up the room. Rooms are also more spacious than traditional hotels in the centre, so guests can enjoy a bright and airy ambience. Rooms contain a safe deposit box, mini bar, pay per view channels, a radio, a satellite / cable colour TV, direct-dial phone with voice mail, WI-FI wireless Internet access, en-suite bathrooms, a hairdryer and radio in the bathroom as well.
The Pullman also includes Mirrors, a funky, colourful, critically acclaimed restaurant and bar, serving modern European cuisine and an extensive drinks menu. For business guests, the Novotel supplies 16 meeting rooms, WiFi wireless internet access and The Shaw Theatre state-of-the-art auditorium; and for all guests, there is a fitness centre and 24-hour room service menu, serving hot and cold snacks. A 24-hour front desk means that you will always have a member of staff on hand to help, whether you need information about the local area or a taxi booked to the airport.
The Pullman London St Pancras has been highly praised by previous guests for high-quality service, rooms and of course, the excellent location. The trendy look of the recently refurbished rooms have put some guests off, as they appear to be trying too hard, but this has also added a bit of personality to what could be a bland chain hotel.
If staying here, rooms on the higher floors tend to be quieter and have fantastic views of the area. Be sure to seek out the elevator with a glass side, for views as you go up and down!
