Shaftesbury Notting Hill Hotel

The Shaftesbury London Notting Hill is located in a quiet square in the heart of Bayswater, Queensway, Hyde Park and Notting Hill, providing easy access to all areas of London. The property's convenient location provides quick and easy access to and from London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports. Set in three of the elegant Victorian town houses which line the streets of the surrounding area, the hotel combines traditional British grandeur with stylish contemporary interiors, effortlessly blending the two sides of London into a great accommodation choice, whether you are travelling for business or leisure.

This boutique hotel's rooms are decorated in a smart modern style, with a vivid colour scheme to add warmth and mood lighting to create a relaxing ambience. The amenities offered reflect the needs of the modern tourist and ensure you can stay connected, with free broadband in all rooms, air-conditioning, flat screen TV's and much more. The hotel's Club Rooms are especially luxurious, with breakfast inclusive as well as half bottle of wine, evening turndown service and complimentary bathrobes.

To ensure you are made to feel welcome from check in onwards and to provide you with a stress-free stay, the hotel offers a range of facilities such as multi-lingual staff, laundry and dry cleaning, fax and photocopying, a small but well-equipped gym, 24-hour reception and a concierge service to help you plan your stay in this buzzing city.

Speaking of sight seeing, any first time, or even repeat visitors will appreciate the hotel's fantastic location. Situated in the up market Paddington district, Hyde Park is just a few minutes walk away, packed with attractions to suit visitors of all ages come rain or shine. You can have some eco-friendly fun on the solar-powered shuttle boat across the Serpentine Lake, rent a tennis court to work up a sweat, test your equestrian skills by trotting around the park on a horse from Hyde Park Stables, or simply enjoy a picnic amongst the lush greenery away from the noise of the city. To the west of the hotel you will come across Whiteley's shopping complex, with over 70 shops and a cinema, and beyond that is the pretty, bohemian Notting Hill area, which contains many unique shops and eateries with artisan food stores and vintage clothing boutiques. Portobello Road hosts a market every week with a range of antique stalls and wares from up and coming designers. If all that shopping hasn't worn you out, you are only a short underground journey away from Oxford Street and the West End, where you can visit Selfridges Department Store or catch a musical in London's Theatreland district.

After a long day sight seeing, you can relax with a cocktail in the laid-back hotel bar, or enjoy a meal in their restaurant. However, you may wish to see what the surrounding area has to offer, and there is plenty to choose from. All tastes are catered for, with sweet treats at The Cupcake Emporium, three-course fine dining at Russian restaurant Erebuni and Thai restaurant Nipa or very elegant, artistic French fare at Angelus.

The hotel is a five-minute walk away from Bayswater tube station, which services the District and Circle lines. From here you have direct links to Paddington Station (where the Heathrow Express Train terminates), Victoria Station (where the Gatwick Express Train terminates) and many other areas of London, including Notting Hill, which is famed for its carnival. If you are driving to the hotel, it is situated near the main A4 road, which can be accessed via the M4 and M25; however, guests should note that the hotel is in the congestion charge zone. An NCP car park is located very nearby in Queensway for overnight parking.

The Shaftesbury Hotel Notting Hill has very affordable room rates for a very exclusive area and staff have been praised across the board for their friendliness and attentive service. For the added amenities it is worth spending extra for a Club room, and it is recommended to request a room with a view at reception, so you can enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
