The Sheraton Park Tower hotel by Starwood hotels is a luxury modern five-star hotel located in Knightsbridge, one of the more exclusive areas near Kensington. The hotel is just around the corner from the Knightsbridge tube station and Sloane Street, with Harrods of Knightsbridge within a five minute walk away, for some very exclusive shopping in departments which cover everything from fine foodstuffs to clothing to pets. Hyde Park is nearby and a very beautiful spot for a relaxing stroll, or horse riding and a trip in a solar-powered shuttle boat across Serpentine Lake if you want something more active. Piccadilly, home to fascinating attractions such as Ripley's Believe It or Not, The Trocadero games complex and London theatres and Green Park are nearby, just off from Hyde Park Corner and linking the area to the West End.

The Sheraton Park Tower is a stylish modern hotel with 280 well-appointed rooms, designed with a well-travelled, cosmopolitan clientele in mind, with handcrafted furnishings, marble bathrooms and views of iconic sights such as Big Ben from rooms on the higher floors. Rooms are classed as Classic, Executive and Panoramic, alongside a range of high-end suites for the more discerning guest. All rooms feature an extensive range of amenities, including heated bathroom mirrors, bathrobes and slippers, walk-in showers, a 25" flat-screen television with 42 satellite channels in 8 languages, iPod docking stations, a Luxury Collection bed with 200-thread count cotton sheets, international plug sockets and high speed Wi-Fi and wired internet connection.

As you would expect from a five-star hotel, the Sheraton Park Tower Hotel has a well-connected concierge to help you plan your trip and a personal butler service, who will press your clothes, deliver you breakfast and serve you drinks and snacks as requested, this service is complimentary with the Panoramic Suite and available for a surcharge with the Panoramic Room. The hotel also has a fitness centre, with cardiovascular and weight training equipment and in-room spa services. Guests at the hotel can enjoy the much-lauded One-O-One restaurant, which has been called 'the best fish restaurant in London' and 'the coolest restaurant in London' by Harper's Going Out Guide, or you can enjoy an al fresco meal in The Terrace restaurant. The Knightsbridge Lounge bar offers a delectable cocktail menu or afternoon tea, perfect for ladies who lunch or a quick aperitif before hitting the town. Breakfast is reportedly excellent, with a huge selection, but comes at a hefty price, so you may prefer to grab a bite at one of the local cafes, bakeries or creperies nearby.

Part of the Sheraton Park Tower's exclusivity is due to its excellent location; a few seconds walk from Knightsbridge tube station. The Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace is just a five-minute walk away, so you can be sure you are in good company. You can tour the Palace for two months each year, but if arriving off-season, you can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony. The shops of Mayfair, including Fortnum and Mason food emporium and Savile Row tailors are also close by, and Belgravia has some fascinating independent boutiques. To the west of the hotel you are a 15-minute walk from South Kensington museums, including the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums, which all have a range of intriguing artifacts to peruse, including dinosaur skeletons, colonial era puppets and the original DNA model by Crick and Watson. Oxford Street shops and Kensington Palace are also within walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel is very well located for transport, especially for international visitors who need to transfer to airports outside of London. The hotel is just two minutes walk from Knightsbridge tube station, which services the Piccadilly line, from which you can travel to Heathrow Airport direct in 20 minutes. The hotel is also just 15 minutes walk from Victoria Station, where you can catch the Gatwick Express Train to the airport in about 25 minutes. Both stations also enable you to explore other parts of the city.

The Sheraton Park Tower Hotel is one of the pricier accommodation options in London and some guests may balk at paying over the odds for basic such as a pot of tea; however, this hotel's long standing reputation and high praise from previous guests is not undeserved and you definitely get what you pay for, exquisite service, a large, comfortable room and a laid-back yet fashionable atmosphere. If you do stay here, it is highly recommended to pay a little extra for rooms with a view, which will make your London stay extra special.
