Located just opposite the Royal Marsden Hospital, the hotel enjoys great transport links; just five minutes walk to South Kensington tube station. All rooms include VI spring mattresses and goose down quilts, flat screen TVs, Egyptian cotton linens and a free high-speed Internet connection, to ensure that guest comfort is a foremost consideration. All rooms feature wooden floors, which some guests have felt added to the hotel's charm, but some guests have complained that it makes a bit too much noise. Staff are very attentive and friendly and have been highly praised by previous guests for their local knowledge and attention to detail in the service they provide.
The hotel also serves a stunning breakfast selection, which includes Poilane breads, which come from a bakery in Belgravia, where international clients have their delivery arranged by private jet! The hotel also comprises of an elegant and cheerful bar, with a great range of champagnes, beers and wines. The hotel doesn't cater for evening meals, but there are some fantastic restaurants in the surrounding area, including El Gaucho for upmarket Mexican food and Tom's Kitchen for some delectable brasserie fare. The hotel is in an excellent London location, close to many shops and sights and a very popular area for tourists to visit. Nearby attractions include the National History Museum, Science Museum, and Victoria and Albert Museum, which have millions of notable artifacts spanning geology, space travel and arts and crafts. Culture buffs will enjoy the art house films of the Cine Lumiere at the Institut Francais, modern art collections of the Saatchi Gallery and The Serpentine in Hyde Park and the musical spectacles in The Royal Albert Hall. Those interested in the history of the area can visit Kensington Palace just a few minutes walk away and pay tribute to its deceased former resident at the Princess Diana memorial in the surrounding Kensington Gardens. Hyde Park, London's largest royal park, offer a range of outdoor activities to keep the kids amused, and if you arrive in May, you can visit the avant garde floral displays of the Chelsea Flower Show, a vibrant social event held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The hotel is also very close to Imperial College London, so it is a great choice for parents visiting children attending there.
The hotel is in an excellent position for transport into and out of London; with South Kensington tube station just a few minutes walk away. The station services the District and Circle lines, from which you can access Victoria Station (for the Gatwick Express Train) and Paddington Station (for the Heathrow Express Train) directly. If driving to the hotel, it is situated just off the main A4 road, but is located in the congestion charge zone and reasonable parking is available at the NCP in Berners Street, just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
