Tewin Bury Farm is a small, independent, 4-star hotel in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside within 490 acres of farm land next to the river Mimram. The Williams family, who own and run the hotel, offer traditional service and modern comforts to those who stay in the delightful 29 guest rooms.
Originally a dairy farm, Tewin Bury Farm has run by the Williams family since 1931.The family sold the dairy cows in 1980, opened a farm shop and created the first four guestrooms for visitors. It went from strength to strength, opening an on-site restaurant, more luxurious hotel rooms and high specification banqueting and conference facilities. Tewin Bury Farm Hotel is now a popular hotel for luxury leisure breaks in Hertfordshire, as well as having an award-winning restaurant and superb event centre as well as still being a delightful working farm.
The air-conditioned bedrooms have been individually designed and use luxurious fabrics and local oak furniture. They all have en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers and include complimentary Ritual toiletries. Facilities include flat screen TV with freeview, desk, charged broadband connection with Wi-Fi access and a direct dial telephone, fridge, tea and coffee making equipment, bottled water, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and alarm clock. Some rooms also have DVD players. Bathrobes can be supplied and the reception stocks mending kits, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Types of room available include premier rooms, superior rooms, four poster rooms, deluxe rooms and duplex rooms.

The award-winning restaurant, with 2 AA rosettes, is open all day and serves traditional British food with a Mediterranean slant. Guests can also enjoy morning coffee or afternoon tea in the bar or terrace. There is also a private dining area for up to 30 people. On Sundays and bank holidays the restaurant serves a traditional roast. The staff can cater for food allergies and special dietary requirements.
Tewin Bury Farm is also a beautiful setting for a wedding, birthday or anniversary celebrations and conferences. It has three function rooms with a garden. The river Mimram provides superb photo opportunities. The hotel’s event organisers can help with the planning.

Vegetables are grown on the 10-acre farm and it is a lovely place to explore or go for a walk along the river bank. Tewin Bury Farm has been a Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust for many years and has its own nature reserve. There is no access to the reserve but hides offer views across the lagoon, channels and reed beds.
The nearest town is Welwyn Garden City . The town centre is a 10-minute drive away and is great for shopping, eating out and coffee shops and is the location of Welwyn Garden City Football Club. Families with children could try the Roller Disco at Roller City. Hertford Town is a little further on and is a market town with a castle. Other nearby attractions include Panshanger Golf Club, Welwyn Roman Baths and The Barn Theatre. There are plenty of lovely country walks to be had in the area.
For drivers, the hotel can be reached by road from the A1 (M) and it has a car park. The farm has an electric powered passenger buggy to help guests travel from the car park to their rooms - although it is a lovely walk for those who prefer to hike. Bicycles are available free of charge for rides around the grounds or further afield. For those flying in to Luton Airport, the airport is a 20-minute drive away. By rail, the nearest train stations to the hotel are Welwyn Garden City and Welwyn North. You can catch trains to London Kings Cross station from Welwyn North station, a five-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel runs a courtesy shuttle bus to Shires Park business centre in Welwyn Garden City.
