"A tasteful fusion of European and Oriental style"
The hotel offers very affordable room rates for such a convenient location, and in an area where low-cost accommodation can vary wildly in quality, it is clear that a great deal of thought has gone into the unique design of the hotel. Rooms range from Small, Luxury and Terrace Doubles, to a range of opulent Suites; all of which have a tasteful fusion of European and Oriental style, with hand-carved furnishings; floor-to-ceiling marbled bathrooms; comfortable bedding; and some with grand elements such as four-poster beds, chandeliers and free-standing baths. Rooms feature an extensive array of amenities, including a free Wi-Fi connection, complimentary mineral water, soft towelling bathrobes, a flat-screen TV, in-room safe, trouser press, hair dryer, power shower, a hard and soft pillow dependent on your preference, CD player, fresh fruit and some complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee facilities aren't offered in room, but the 24-hour room service is very efficient and offers hot beverages if required.
"Excellent continental breakfast buffet"
Staff at the hotel are friendly and attentive and always ready with a cheery greeting. The hotel also serves an excellent continental breakfast buffet with a good selection, which you can enjoy in their recently refurbished breakfast room whilst perusing a free newspaper. Parking is also available at the hotel, but for a charge, so it is worth parking in the NCP in Warwick Road, just a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
"Minutes from Earl's Court Exhibition Centre"
After preparing for the day with a hearty breakfast, you can explore the local sights with ease. Just a 6-minute walk away is the Earl's Court Exhibition Centre, and Olympia Exhibition Centre is just one tube stop away from Earl's Court tube station, making this an ideal hotel for people visiting or exhibiting at events such as The Ideal Home Show, The Royal Tournament or Crufts Dog Show. A 20-minute walk away, or a short bus ride away, lays the exclusive boutiques, bars and eateries of Kensington and Kensington Palace and gardens, the former home of Princess Diana. Beyond Kensington Gardens, you will find Hyde Park, home to The Serpentine Gallery and historic sights such as Speakers' Corner and Rotten Row. Exhibition Road, home to the Victoria & Albert, Natural History and Science Museums, is easy to reach from Hyde Park, and in South Kensington you will also find the Prince Albert Monument, Harrods Department Store and the Royal Albert Hall.
"Convenient for visitors arriving at Heathrow Airport"
Should you wish to explore further afield, from Earl's Court tube station you can easily reach other parts of the city via the District and Piccadilly lines. The hotel is very convenient for those visiting from abroad as the Piccadilly Line travels direct to Heathrow Airport in about 25 minutes and the Eurostar terminus at King's Cross St Pancras Station in about 15 minutes. Victoria Station, where the Gatwick Express Train terminates can be reached via the District line in just 4 stops.
"A hidden gem"
Whilst rooms at the hotel may be a little too bijou for some, and the lack of some amenities such as a kettle and adequate toiletries may be irksome, the hotel more than makes up for these negatives with excellent service, reasonable room rates, exquisite style and above all, a superb London location. If staying here, try to avoid the basement rooms as these can be a little darker and noisier than top floor rooms, but otherwise you will not be disappointed with this hidden gem.
