Renowned for being the home of Rugby, Twickenham is a leafy suburban town that is located just 10 miles away from the capital. It is within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. There are wide collections of period houses in the area that offer plenty of stunning Victorian features. St. Margaret’s is close by and benefits from many tree lined streets. From Twickenham station, you will be able to access a number of places across London and the south west. This includes several trains to Waterloo where you can visit the South Bank as well as direct services to both Richmond and Clapham Junction. Other places you can reach from this station are Putney, Vauxhall, Kingston and Wimbledon not to mention some trains going to Feltham, Staines, Windsor and Staines.
When it comes to enjoying this lovely area of the UK, you will notice a strongly influenced leaning toward sport. This is thanks to Twickenham stadium which is home to the RFU (Rugby Football Union). It is the location for England home games where they compete tooth and nail to lift the ultimate prize which is the Six Nations Trophy which takes places on an annual basis. In addition to this, club rugby lovers are well catered for courtesy of the Stoop. This is where you will have the ability to watch London Broncos as well as Harlequins who both play here.

Eel Pie Island is another small landmark which features a small land mass which is situated on the Thames. Home to the famous Eel Pie Island Hotel, this is positioned on the Tideway and can only be accessed on foot or via a footbridge. Designed by well-known architect James Gibbs, there are several historical and contemporary exhibitions held.
Hampton Court Palace is within close proximity to Twickenham which is an ideal day out for young and old. For those looking to stay in the area, there are plenty of hotels to choose from. This includes the Marriott Hotel Twickenham which includes being situated in the stadium itself.
Meanwhile the Bingham Hotel in Richmond boasts a Michelin starred restaurant while the Petersham Hotel is set just below Richmond Hill and provides modern accommodation with incredible riverside views.
